Flu Fighter Balls



These balls pack a powerful punch against colds and flus by combining ingredients such as lemon, ginger, turmeric and cinnamon that have been used by many Eastern cultures for centuries as a natural remedy.

Turmeric:
Helps fight foreign invaders by stimulating and strengthening the body’s immune system due to it having strong antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties.

Lemon:
Acts as a strong defense against germs due to high levels of vitamin C, antibacterial properties, and the natural ability to support and detoxify your liver.


Cinnamon :
Traditionally used to soothe aches and pains because of its natural pain relieving effects, cinnamon is also a natural antibacterial and anti-fungal. It has a warming effect within the body therefore stimulates circulation and increases the elimination of toxins flushing the body of flu promoting germs.

Ginger:
Has been used for centuries to relieve a sore throat and loosen up congestion during a cold. Ginger helps stimulate perspiration, which cleanses the system and brings down the body temperature that occurs during a fever. Like lemon, ginger also has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. Ginger also acts as a cough suppressant.

Dry ingredients
  • 4 tablespoons almond meal
  • 4 tablespoons coconut flour
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon Maca powder (or additional protein powder)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper



    Wet ingredients
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 drops vanilla
  • Juice of 1⁄2 lemon
    *Desiccated coconut for coating

  1. Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl till combined
  2. Melt coconut oil, honey and tahini together. Stir in lemon juice and
    vanilla.
  3. Pour wet ingredients into dry mixture and stir to combine
  4. Roll into desired size balls, roll in coconut and place in freezer for 30 min.
*Best kept refrigerated
Makes approximately 15 balls
